We’re excited to announce our Beijing Volunteer & Internship Trip 2026— an immersive cultural, educational, and service-learning experience in Beijing!
This unique program allows students to engage in meaningful volunteer service, explore China’s technology and healthcare systems, and participate in cross-cultural exchanges with local peers — all while practicing Chinese in authentic, real-world settings.

Time: 2026 Spring Break or Summer Break


Trip Highlights:

  • Volunteer Service: Assist teachers in local kindergartens as English teaching volunteers
  • Technology Exploration: Visit JD.com’s Smart Logistics Park and Huawei’s flagship store
  • Cultural Discovery: Explore the Great Wall, Palace Museum, Hutongs, and traditional tea culture
  • Medical Exchange: Visit a Beijing hospital and learn about China’s healthcare system
  • Peer Collaboration: Team projects and weekend cultural exchange with local high schoolers.

PROGRAM INFORMATION:

  • Local Transportation
    We provide luxurious tourist bus and experienced professional drivers for our student group, The safety of students during transportation is of the highest priority to us.
  • Meals
    Our menus are designed to combine the culture of local cuisines with the familiarity of international fare to ensure an interesting, appetizing, and healthy diet for the students that compliments the energy.
    Hotel Buffet Breakfast – Western style breakfasts mixed with local Chinese additions.
    Lunch & Dinner – Local popular Chinese style menu adapted with special consideration towards nutritional, healthy and child-friendly foods. All meals plan are changeable.
  • Accommodation
    4-star hotel on this program. All student accommodation is in twin rooms according to availability and need; all teachers are placed in single rooms. We select accommodation with private western style bathrooms wherever possible.
  • Instructors & Equipment
    Chinese (English speaking) logistic coordinators and professional tour guides will be provided on every program. All staff are trained and certified in first aid and are responsible for all instruction work, activity facilitation, local service coordination, and resolution of any potential issues that may arise. All activities are led by Indier staff unless specially requested.
  • Insurance
    We purchase international travel & medical insurance which covers all outdoor activities we undertake on program.

Trip Itinerary

AM — Community Service: English Teaching in Kindergarten
Visit a local kindergarten and work as an English teaching assistant, helping with classroom activities and supporting teachers.

PM — Scenic Spot: The Palace Museum
Visit Tiananmen Square and the Palace Museum to appreciate the world’s largest and best-preserved ancient wooden architecture and learn about the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Climb Jingshan Park for a panoramic view of the Forbidden City.



AM — Community Service: English Teaching in Kindergarten
Visit local kindergarten in Beijing, work as an English
teaching assistant in completing classroom teaching tasks

PM — Technology Enterprise Visit: JD.com Smart Logistics Park
In-depth company visit and participate practice activities at JD.com.Visit the Asia No. 1 Intelligent Logistics Park of the base, learn about the application of China’s logistics
black technology and artificial intelligence & big data, and participate in practical work

Scenic Spot: Qianmen & Dashilan Night Market
Experience Beijing’s public transportation by taking the subway to Qianmen and Dashilan, and enjoy the lively night market atmosphere

Visit local kindergarten in Beijing, work as an English teaching assistant in completing classroom teaching tasks as assigned by the teachers

PM — Scenic Spot: Take Bullet Train & Visit the Great Wall
Literally: One who fails to reach the Great Wall is not a true man” Experience Chinese bullet train and visit the First of the Seven World’s Great Wonders — The Great Wall of China。Participate in the research and study work on the restoration of the Great Wall



AM — Community Service: English Teaching in Kindergarten
Visit local kindergarten in Beijing, work as an English teaching assistant in completing classroom teaching tasks as assigned by the teacher

PM — Technology & Business Exploration: Visit Wangfujing & Explore Huawei Car
Visit Wangfujing, the most famous commercial street in Beijing, and tour the Huawei flagship store there to experience Huawei’s latest high-tech vehicles and electronic products. Students can freely engage in group activities and experience the lively street atmosphere



AM — Community Service: English Teaching in Kindergarten
Visit local kindergarten in Beijing, work as an English teaching assistant in completing classroom teaching tasks as assigned by the teacher

PM— Street Interview Challenge
Visit the Temple of Heaven Park, learn about the outdoor fitness culture of the elderly in China, visit Qi nian dian, and learn about the traditional culture of the ancient royal family to pray for rain and harvest

Night — Culture Event : Acrobatic Show

The opening ceremony of the “Chinese Little Ambassadors” activity on the weekend

AM — Hutong & Heritage Handcraft
Treasure Hunting in Old Beijing Hutongs – walk into local siheyuan homes to learn about the culture and architectural features of traditional Beijing residences, experience intangible cultural heritage handicrafts in a quadrangle courtyard
A local artisan shares personal stories and cultural insights, followed by student Q&A (with interpreter support)

PM — Local Hospital Visit & Experience
Visit Beijing Hospital with Chinese friends, experience the hospital’s services in person, interview patients and doctors at the hospital, and learn about China’s medical system and hospital management processes

Night | Cafe English Corner
A public, volunteer-led English learning corner held in a café within the ancient city, open free of charge to all residents who wish to improve their English. The event offers speaking support, conversation practice, and language assistance to participants in a warm, welcoming setting. It aims to promote cross-cultural exchange and foster a community-wide culture of learning



Tea Aesthetics & Growth Dialogue
Theme: Traditional Aesthetics & Future Vision
AM — Immersive Experience in Chinese Tea Art & Hanfu Experience

Hanfu Experience: Put on traditional Chinese clothing and learn the ancient culture of bowing. Experience Chinese tea art with your own hands

PM — Growth & Cultural Exchange Salon
A growth and cultural sharing session and roundtable discussion for American and Chinese students. Jointly explore educational differences, time management skills and cultural expectations
