Description
This class helps students build fluency in spoken Chinese, recognize high-frequency Chinese characters, and develop strong reading and writing skills. Using a “learning through context” approach, we integrate captivating books and engaging activities tailored to students’ grade levels and individual needs.
Throughout the year, students will work on mastering 200 high-frequency Chinese characters and 50 essential sentences, reinforcing their foundation for effective communication. They will develop handwriting skills, begin writing for projects, and enhance comprehension, communication, and sound acquisition.Â
In the fall, students explore the Mid-Autumn Festival, learning about traditional foods, drinks, Chinese table culture, and the 12 zodiac animals, expanding vocabulary and practicing sentence construction. As winter arrives, cultural celebrations continue with the Chinese Lunar New Year, deepening students’ understanding of traditions and language through stories and hands-on projects. In spring, students connect with nature by observing seasonal changes, studying plants, fruits, and vegetables, and exploring the nature cycle and ecosystem, all supported by interactive games and project work that promote sentence building and language application.
