We highly recommend the 《小羊上山》Leveled Chinese Readers for students K or above registered our Sunday classes. These books are designed specifically for young Chinese learners and provide a structured pathway from beginning character recognition to increasingly independent reading.
Each level includes:
- 10 storybooks
- 1 activity/game book
- 1 set of Chinese character cards
Level 1
Includes 10 simple and engaging stories written with beginner readers in mind. The language is short, rhythmic, and easy for children to understand, remember, and read aloud. It introduce 60 Chinese characters and includes original stories, classic tales, science and nature topics, and everyday-life themes. The language becomes more expressive while remaining accessible to developing readers.
Having the physical books at home is especially helpful for reviewing class material, completing reading homework, practicing character recognition, and rereading stories at the child’s own pace.
Estimated cost: approximately $20 per set of books + $20 air shipping from China. We will coordinate the group order and shipping for Chia families with no additional service fees or hidden charges.
